tell your story | conte sua história

“One of my friends said about me that I think all sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story or tell a story about them, and perhaps this is not entirely untrue. To me, the explanation of life seems to be its melody, its pattern. And I feel in life such an infinite, truly inconceivable fantasy.” – Karen Blixen

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” – Maya Angelou

“I wake up to the fact that I have transformed my pain into something more beautiful and useful than it was in its original state. I wake up to a vindicating calm because I’ve allowed something to leave my body and be reborn in the world as something better. And not only that, now I have something to offer the world: a contribution.” – Ani DiFranco

Tell Your Story is a project about gathering someone’s life story and writing it from the perspective of the recipient. The encounter consists of listening to the narrative with full attention in an empathetic and easygoing atmosphere, capturing clouds of memories.

The next step is to absorb the expressed material, subjectively process it, and transform these recollections into a coherent narrative.

The written story that emerges from the experience is the result of a particular set of eyes and ears assimilating a verbal narration. The sessions generate an original plot out of this exchange.

There is no limit of how many sessions one can have. It can be from one to hundreds. Each session will result in a stand-alone piece. Multiple sessions can lead to a manuscript.
